Indigo is looking for a Head of Marketing to join our team!


Location: Remote (must be based in the EU, UK, Serbia, Bosnia, or Cyprus)

Start date: August 1st, 2024

Reporting to: CEO

Hours: 15-20 hours a week

Remuneration: £11.50/hour

Contract: 1-year consultancy agreement

Purpose of the role

We are recruiting a part-time Head of Marketing to amplify our social media presence, improve our reach, increase our recruitment and fundraising potential, grow our pool of wonderful volunteers and to communicate the positive impact they make on a daily basis! 


As a small charity, we don't have a huge budget for communications - but we do have access to inspiring stories, powerful imagery and an energetic team of colleagues.  We’re looking for a strong strategist, copywriter and a social media pro - tenacious, creative and with a knack for spotting opportunities for our communications and marketing to really make an impact.


Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Implementation

  • Dedicate time to develop and refine the overall marketing strategy, including identifying target audiences, setting objectives, and measuring performance against goals.

  • Coordinate and track the implementation of Indigo’s Donor Engagement strategy, taking into account the audiences targeted at each platform (Instagram, Facebook, website).

  • Coordinate and track the implementation of Indigo’s Volunteer Outreach strategy to meet the diverse needs of charity partners.

  • Strategise and plan content, focusing on creating engaging and impactful narratives that align with Indigo's mission and goals.

  • Identify opportunities for brand awareness and promotion.

  • Develop Indigo’s SEO and use of Google Ads.

  • Measure the impact of marketing content to inform future marketing strategy, and amplify evidence of Indigo’s impact.

  • Work closely with the Leadership Team to ensure our marketing strategy aligns with Indigo’s overall strategic direction and to foster synergies between different areas of Indigo.

  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required by the Indigo team

  • As part of the leadership team, spend time on organisational growth initiatives, contributing to the strategic direction and development of Indigo.

Team Management & Coordination

Skills & Experience

This role is ideally suited for someone with experience in strategic marketing, content creation, or related fields, who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of refugees.


  • Proven experience in digital marketing, graphic design, or strategic marketing. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strategic thinking and ability to formulate long-term plans.

  • Leadership and management skills for overseeing teams and programs.

  • Strong team player.

  • Strong networking skills are a plus

  • Knowledge of Canva, Google Analytics  and social insights, Google Ads, and/or working with SEO is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Wix and Wordpress is a plus.

  • Interest in working remotely, managing your own time and multitasking.

  • Previous experience and/or demonstrated interest in the refugees and migrants sector, and knowledge of the responsible volunteering concept is welcomed.
