The Educational Equality Institute
The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) is a Norwegian NGO providing quality education to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In response to the war in Ukraine, we have started an educational project providing free language courses, programs of study, and integration courses to Ukrainians. Through these programs and always, we aim to promote equality through education.
TEEI’s current educational programs consist of the following:
Free Online Language Courses — free language courses taught by volunteers and displaced Ukrainian teachers (both online and in person).
Language Connect for Ukraine — mentor-led conversational language learning, help navigating host countries, and daily guidance for Ukrainians.
University Continuation Programs — we are building an accredited and fully-online university for Ukrainian students who have had their studies disrupted by the war.
Online K-12 Schooling — an online platform for Ukrainian school teachers to continue teaching their usual classes using curriculum from the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.
In addition, we offer online career workshops, such as CV writing workshops, job interviewing skills, and digital competency classes to help Ukrainians land jobs in their host countries.
Where is it?
Our projects are primarily implemented online with a few in-person language classes in Lithuania and Romania. We hope to further expand our in-person language courses to other European and North American countries.
What will I be doing?
Volunteers have the opportunity to choose a variety of roles to support our projects:
Teaching, administration, marketing, curriculum planning, project management, mentoring, business development, finance, outreach, volunteer coordination, writing, and editing. What impact would I have?
All volunteers are key to implementing TEEI’s projects. The work of volunteers to support our projects has a direct impact on the educational, social, and career prospects of displaced Ukrainians.
Who will I be working with?
Volunteers will join a multinational team of passionate individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of refugees.
Volunteers may work directly with Ukrainians who have been externally displaced by the war or chosen to remain in Ukraine.Minimum age
18
Accommodation
Volunteers work remotely in their home countries. TEEI does not sponsor or provide accommodation to volunteers. As most of our work is done online, volunteers will need access to the Internet and a personal computer. Volunteers engaged in mentor or in-person teaching roles may work on-site with small associated expenses.
Extra Costs
Volunteers engaged in mentor or teaching in-person teaching programs may have associated transportation and/or activity expenses. TEEI is unable to reimburse volunteers for these expenses.
